Facilities

There are three well appointed lounges with colour televisions. One of them is a nice quiet upstairs lounge for residents who want to read or entertain their relatives. The other two lounges are downstairs, near the Nurses’ station and the office so the staff can keep an eye on their wellbeing and attend to their needs. There is a drinks machine in the main lounge for the residents and relatives to use.

There is a separate dining room, retaining a lot of the original features of the property, where residents who are able or who want to socialise can have their meals. There are always members of staff handy to help feed residents who are unable to feed themselves.

The back garden and patio is there for the residents to enjoy as an extra space. The Gardening Club meets there in the summer months. The Hairdressing Salon, adjacent to the Lounge on the ground floor, is fully kitted out with hairdryers and shampooing facility. The hairdresser offers her services once a week but also obliges at other times. The hairdresser’s charges are very reasonable and are displayed in the lounge.

The building and the gardens have been specially adapted to allow for easy and safe access.

The Home is equipped with all specialised equipment for the benefit of the residents and is fully maintained. There is a regularly serviced passenger lift in operation and also bath and lifting hoists.

We also have a chiropodist who visits the home on a regular basis and looks after the residents’ feet. He charges a very nominal fee.

Bedrooms

The Home has 20 single and 2 companion rooms, some with en suite facilities. All the rooms have recently been refurbished to very high specifications with new fitted wardrobes, vanity units, lockable bedside cabinets, shelves, chest of drawers and new carpets, curtains, bedding and light fittings. All rooms have a nurse call point.

Laundry

We have an in house laundry which also includes basic mending. The laundry system is the new Otex system which is renowned for killing all super bugs so cross infection is not a problem We also have an innovative tagging system for clothes so each resident’s clothes are easily identifiable and we very rarely have a mix up or loss of clothes.
